The wanna-be Oompa Loompas

This weekend we got free tickets to the play Willy Wonka, Junior. It was so very similar to the old movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" at a school in Spanish Fork. Lance had done some work for the school at FedEx Kinkos. I was so worried about taking the small kids, but the LOVED it! Luke's favorite part was the Oompa Loompas that were all the kids from the school that would surround the audience and a few would get up and dance on tables in the audience. He loved watching all the fun! Kiersten loved watching Willy Wonka sing and when Charlie Bucket and his Grandpa Joe flew across the stage after drinking the fizzy lifting drinks and then burped. Mikey loved the whole thing. He wanted to join the cast and be an Oompa Loompa- maybe next time. This was us during the intermission. We weren't allowed to take pictures during the play, so we couldn't share the magic of the show, but believe us when we say, it was great!

Can you Believe it?

Can you believe that this sweet, innocent, little cutie went to NURSERY for the first time today?!!!?
That's right. Luke went to nursery for the first time. He is only 17 1/2 months, but they were willing to take him. He was being disruptive in Sunday School and so I was teasing Lance that we should just take him to nursery, and the gleam came in his eye, and he joked we should try, so I did! I took him in and the leaders were so cute to play with him and he didn't even pretend to cry. In fact, I am sure he was glad to see me go!

Luke's New Trick

Luke has been trying for weeks to climb the ladder on Mikey & Kiersten's bunk bed. He always gets to the 4th step up the ladder and chickens out. Well, last night he finally got the guts (much to the sorrow of the queen mother) and did it. He made it all the way to the top and LOVES IT!

It is actually quite funny, because he does it until he is so tired he can barely make it. He just climbs to the top and then has Lance, Mikey, or I lift him down, then he runs around to the side of the bed and does it again. Man do we need a slide/swing set this summer!

Another Quilt Finished!!!

No, I didn't do the same quilt twice, this is the first one that I had done. The second, sadly, I never did take a picture of before it got taken to Andy. But for those of you who did not get to see the first, here it is.
Here it is... quilt #3 finished. I have to admit, the day I finished it and sent it off to Tremonton I had nothing but bad feelings for it. I had put as many hours in this one quilt as I had done the other two. But through the skill of Betty, she made it pass my expectations. I had done 6 sets of 7 designs and then made a border of silky white fabric.

Here is the full view and I think it turned out quite nice, if I do say so myself.

Even Mikey gave his seal of approval.

Great Story

This is a great story I just got from an e-mail...

I was out walking with my 4 year old daughter. She picked up something off the ground and started to put it in her mouth. I took the item away from her and I asked her not to do that. "Why?" my daughter asked. "Because it's been on the ground, you don't know where it's been, it's dirty, and probably has germs," I replied. At this point, my daughter looked at me with total admiration and asked, "Momma, how do you know all this stuff, you are so smart" I was thinking quickly. "All moms know this stuff. It's on the Mom Test. You have to know it, or they don't let you be a Mom." We walked along in silence for 2 or 3 minutes, but she was evidently pondering this new information. "OH...I get it!" she beamed, "So if you don't pass the test you have to be the Dad!" ''Exactly," I replied back with a big smile on my face.

Hope you liked it as much as I did!
