Halloween Fun

We are all super excited for Saturday! Mikey is getting baptized and of course, it is Halloween! This week is full of Halloween activities and fun. Monday night for FHE we decorated pumpkin cookies & enjoyed a yummy snack.

Last night we went to the ward's Halloween activity & the kids had a blast. There was face painting, cake walk, bean bags, fish pond, and a dough nut eating contest. So many things to do.
Michael was Anakin Skywalker

Kiersten as Princess Leia

Luke as Darth Vader

And the hanging dough nut eating contest. It was so funny to watch & they certainly had fun.
I know that they are looking forward to the rest of the week's fun.

Kiersten's Kindergarten Spotlight

Kiersten was the Spotlight of the week for her class this week. She was giddy because she got to bring a poster that was "all about her", do show and tell every day, bring her favorite snack on Thursday, and get to do some responsibilities that only the spot-lighter gets to do. She was so proud & super excited!

Moab Trip

This past weekend we were lucky enough to get to go to Moab for my cousin Tiffany's wedding. We were so excited to get into the nice hot air & get away for a few days. It was a lot of fun.

Here is our beautiful flower girl. She was so excited to be next to the "married girl" and get to throw the flowers. And of course when it was actually time to do it, she was so nervous that she hardly threw any. Silly girl.

A few random pics from the reception & wedding. My camera was being dumb and so I never did get a picture of the bride & groom together. Ugh! But it was beautiful & the kids had lots of fun at the reception/dance. Luke even asked me to dance & needless to say my heart melted.

That night we spent the night at my cousin Amanda's new home. It was awesome! The kids played in this HUGE pile of dirt for almost an hour & cried when they had to stop so we could go to the birthday party. They didn't even care that they had dirt all over them, especially an inch or so worth in their shoes. Crazy kids.

The groom decided that since the whole family was down, it would be a perfect time to throw the bride a birthday party at the motel where most everyone was staying. He cooked us all lunch, we swam, enjoyed each other's company, & even got to go swimming. I even got a little sun. I loved getting sunburned in October. There is just something very weird, but fun about it. Everyone had a great time & then the men (LANCE & anyone he could convince to follow) gradually snuck off to watch the BYU game. It was a great afternoon.

That night Emilee's new boyfriend who lives down there had us for a yummy dinner at his restaurant and then we had to head home. We finally made it around 1 am, and then got to relax at home on Sunday & enjoy our little vacation for a while longer.

Luke & Michael's birthday

We had such a fun weekend! We got to celebrate Luke's 3rd birthday on Saturday, and today is Mikey's 8th birthday!!! Saturday started with birthday muffins for breakfast as Lance and I packed for the weekend. Luke got to blow out his 3 candles and he loved it!
As you can see, from the beginning of the day, he woke up loving the fact that this was HIS birthday and he was super special for the day. We loved the chance to spoil him, and loved that he loved to be so spoiled by us and by our families.

We also were able to sneak in a Weber State game and watch Trevyn do his best. The kids loved cheering for him, especially Kiersten. She would yell her loudest, whether he was on the field or not. Too cute.

On Sunday, we got to spend the morning with the Hansens and listen to conference, eat Grandma's home made soup and rolls, and then it was time for CAKE! Luke's was my version of Lightening McQueen. I was actually surprised that he recognized it, but his eyes lit up and he at least pretended well that he liked it!

Michael's cake was a Pokemon ball. He loves pokemon, and this was just too easy to pass up. He was quite excited that this was the cake I was making for him. I think it passed his expectations. Silly boy.

He was so spoiled yesterday by our families. New games, a new suit for when he is baptized, new Pokemon cards, a new scout shirt & book for him to start scouts, and MORE! Spoiled kid!

This morning for Michael's birthday, I made him hash browns for breakfast just like he had requested, and then he got sent off to school. Then we got his treats ready for his class. Each treat had one of the above cards on it (only a lot smaller) and then Luke and I took them to his class. Unfortunately, we chose when he was at lunch, so we gave them to his teacher and so we will just have to imagine the smile on his face when he sees them. I hope he has a great day the rest of the day.

We sure love these silly boys! Happy Birthday Luke & Michael!
