Happy Birthday Grandpa Fuhriman

Happy 59th (again).
We love you!

St. George Trip

We had so much fun this past weekend. We went with our good friends the Madsens to St. George. It was the longest drive we had taken with the kids and they did okay. But we loved the chance to relax and play- so thanks again Tami & Jim!
We even got to soak in the warm weather and go swimming outside in the middle of November. I can't tell you how much we loved that!
We also got the chance to go up to Snow Canyon and go hiking on some of the beautiful trails. (If you click on these pictures you can make them bigger if you want.)

On Monday on our way home we stopped by the St. George Temple and loved every second! We walked the grounds and then went to the visitor center. Our tour guide was Elder Eubanks (Mark Eubanks- weather guy from channel 5 news)- we thought that was pretty cool. He was so cute with the kids and taught us a lot.

After the tour we went into the room with the Christus statue and listened to a testimony from a sister missionary from California- so I thought a ton about Emilee and made me even more excited for her to come home next month!

Loving the whole trip. Wishing we were there again.
(Without the long drive.)

BYU vs. San Diego

As most of you probably know, yesterday's game was a good one (BYU 42-San Diego 12). It was especially good because it was the last home game of the season. Mikey really wanted to go with us to this game, and I was sure glad he did! He loved sitting between us and having all the attention. He also liked when Daddy gave up his ear phones so that he could listen to the game on the radio.

Over the course of the season, Cosmo has lovingly been renamed, "Kitty" by Luke. So this thought came to me yesterday and I just had to post it.

Lance and I really love our yearly splurge of the season tickets. It is fun being in the same spot year after year and getting to know those around you and sharing their love of the game. I always like the last game, because the old-timers that have had their seats in the same spot for 20+ years always say the same thing..."See ya next year. Same time. Same place." as they leave the game. Silly, but fun.

Jumping in the Leaves

So last night our awesome neighbors invited the kids over to jump in the leaves. Now this was no ordinary pile of leaves, because they have been talking about this upcoming pile of leaves since last year. Ever since the leaves started changing colors, they have been anticipating it and I think it was well worth the wait! The older boys got to use the rope swing to jump in the leaves ( as seen above- they are holding on to it until it is their turn).
The daddies took turns raking them up into the highest possible pile as they could before someone (usually Luke or Kiersten) got too impatient to wait anymore and they would just jump into it anyway. If on the rare occasion that they got to make a good pile, it would almost hit the daddy's waist!
Luke and Kiersten jumping in the pile for the 80th time that night.

You can tell it must have been tons of fun because the kids pooped out almost immediately as they laid down (including the bid kid at heart!).

Halloween Fun

Halloween ended up being a lot of fun this year. The kids of course were the Incredibles and highly adorable I might add. Lance resurrected his Captain Hook ensemble and I was a witch (no picture needed- just imagine long black hair (wig), green face, funny nose) that was me. But we did find a minute in that crazy day to get a picture mostly together.
We were fortunate enough to get to have the Madsens come and go trick-or-treating with us. Kiersten and Lindsey were just as excited as can be to get going.
Michael and Truman were so excited they could hardly stay in one place. They were immediately assigned the leaders and started at the neighbors as soon as they could!
Cutie boy Luke was excited to get his bag filled with something, that he took the cars he carries around everywhere and filled the bottom of the bag with them!
The kiddos. What a cute bunch!

Kiersten's Preschool Halloween Program

So the afternoon of Halloween was Kiersten's big program for her preschool. We started getting her ready forever in advance and I straightened her hair, sprayed it black (so it could look just like Violet), and found her a red bow so it could look just like her. She was adorable! Lance even took off an hour to come and watch her. It just made her beam with pride.
So as the program started Mrs. Julie (Cinderella and one of Kiersten's teachers & my good friend) helped each of the kids took turns saying their name and who they were dressed up as. Kiersten said, "my name is Kiersten Hansen and I am incredible!" We definitely agree. It was so cute!
They did all the songs that they have been practicing and Kiersten said her part perfectly. Lance and I just beamed watching her.
Kiersten and her sappy mother.
After the program she came up and gave Luke a BIG hug. It was all Luke could do the whole program to not run up and stand by her, so he was glad to finally be next to her. It was a cute minute. Her daddy also gave her tons of big hugs and just smiled from ear to ear.

Pumpkin Time (catch-up blog from 10/28)

This year instead of carving pumpkins, we let the kids decide on what they wanted to do with them. I had seen a few shows where they did carvings, glitter, dressed them up, etc...and so I gave them the options and this is what they decided on...was to paint them. So we took them to Macey's and let them each pick one out. Now I have to admit that I was quite scared at first and not sure of the mess we might make, but it ended up being a lot of fun. Mikey and Kiersten made a good team feeding off each others ideas and each others paints.
Michael's final masterpiece.
Michael taking his work VERY seriously.
Kiersten's beautiful pumpkin.
She was so very proud of her hard work.

Luke just loved not being screamed at for making a big mess and doing what ever HE wanted to do with his project.
Luke sure had fun and then he was quickly rushed off to the tub!

BYU vs UNLV (catch-up blog)

Okay, so as you have noticed, I have done really bad at keeping updated, so here is my attempt at it. The first "big" event was 10/25 at the BYU vs UNLV game. It was the boys' turn to go with us. Kiersten was excited not to come because that meant she got to play with her best friend Lindsey. We loved it because it was time with just the little boys. So as you can see above, Luke and Lance are loving the final outcome of the game. It was sure a close one and we are so glad that it turned out the way it did!
Michael & Daddy celebrating the win.
Daddy & the boys
Mom's turn to snuggle with the boys.

So it was a very fun afternoon and a great chance to see Mikey's and Luke's boy personalities come out. Luke loved to look for the "kitty (aka Cosmo the Cougar), and Michael just loved being Daddy's little side kick. Even if it was a close game, it was sure fun!
