My little elf

My little elf.

My little elf found this funny hat in one of the Christmas boxes and wore it everywhere we went for the whole day. He was so cute. He wore it to take Kiersten to preschool, throughout Walmart, to take a nap, and around the house. I think he knew how cute he was in it.

Silly little elf wanted to mow the snow. What are we going to do with him?

Kiersten's Christmas Program

Friday was a very fun night for Kiersten. She has been looking forward to her Christmas Program for weeks! (We just won't tell her that we almost missed it because we didn't bring the instructions as to where it was and the place we thought it was, was wrong!) What a scary thought!
The whole preschool class- as excited as could be.
She was so excited & not a bit nervous.

Her brothers tried to be as good as they could. Luke loved waving to Kiersten and having her wave back, which wasn't distracting at all....nope. Michael just kept saying what a good job she was doing. I loved that he was proud of her too.
She did such a great job as you will see in the video's below. The first is her singing "Here comes Suzy Snowflake" chorus with the actions of course. The second is her program part.

Cutie girl.

Walking Report Card

On Michael's last day of school for the year 2008, his class had a walking report card. It was quite fun. He got to invite one parent (but no siblings) and he got to show off all the things that is is learning. He did all the centers that he would normally do throughout the day, except only shorter and with his mom watching. He did an especially good job. We got to read a Jedi book, practice writing, math, and lot of other cute things. His class also put on a cute two song program that was quite adorable. Michael was also chosen as Mrs. Taylor's special helper for a task that they did. I was so proud of him and LOVED the chance that I was able to go to school with him. (Thanks Tami for watching the kids so I could!)

Twilight Geek

I have joined the Twilight geek group. There is no denying it now.

When the movie came out a few weeks ago, I was relieved that that was another movie I did not "have" to rush out and see. I had never read the books and when the girls at work heard this news they were in shock and insisted I read it. So one of my friends loaned me a book. Now I have had this gem of a book in my possession for almost 3 weeks and until yesterday morning had struggled not to be bored stiff while reading the first 56 pages. But then yesterday with the crazy winter storm I took advantage of the excuse to stay inside and get a few more dull pages read. But that is where the problem began. I started reading and the book went from dull beyond words to each page getting more and more exciting that I could hardly stand putting the book down for more than a few minutes. So what I thought was going to be an hour or so of reading ended up being 12 hours of stop and go reading. Oh sure, I would have to take breaks to get stuff for the kids, shovel snow, cook lunch and dinner, drink breaks, etc... but if I was not reading the book than I was thinking about it. So when I read the very last page I was so into the book that I dreamt about Bella and Edward and the whole group. Now all those crazy shirts that people were wearing make sense. The madness makes sense...to me anyway.

So for all of you that I laughed at for being such big fans of the book/movie...I'm sorry....and when can we go see the movie????? And who will loan me the second book??????

Cutest Nativity

So before the Santa visit at my Grandma's party, my sister put together the daunting task of getting the Nativity together. I have to admit that it was well worth the effort because, let's face it....kids dressed up as pieces of the Nativity are just stinkin' cute!
The shepherds making their grand appearance. (Sorry these are a little out of order).

One of the cutest kings

The angel crew being not so angelic...that's my girl.

My handsome shepherd

My very un-angelic angel.

At least her daddy was proud of her and thought she was the most adorable girl in the room.

Even my tiny king got a little grumpy after a bit, but at least he was still a cute!

Daddy was proud of his shepherd and the good job that he did!

Kids & Santa

So last night we we lucky enough to survive the snow storms and make it to my Grandma Shaw's Christmas party. It was lots of fun to see most of the family there- especially my Aunt Sharon & her family that live in Moab that we rarely see.
My Grandma Shaw and 4 of her grandchildren and 12 of her great- grandchildren. Even though they weren't all in the picture it was a tiny slice of heaven for her to have this many there.

As one of the last parts of the night, Santa came to visit and each of the kids (and a few adults) got the chance to visit with Santa and tell him our Christmas wish.
Luke & Santa doing some bonding time.

Mikey telling Santa his "top secret" wish for Christmas.

Kiersten would have spent all night on his lap, telling him stories and chatting his ear off!

The kids loved to hear stories from Santa and tried to be extra good (at least while he was there anyway).

New way of Decorating

So Kiersten has been helping me with the Christmas decorating. She loves to find new ways of doing things, and so these are some of her newest ideas:

A New way to use the stockings:

Try playing with them as baby dolls. I am just glad that she didn't put Vader in a dress!

Then we have the newest manger style:

Sleeping Beauty- I don't think that is who the shepherds or the wise men were suppose to be looking for!

Thanks Kiersten for the new ideas....but I think I will pass.
