Just a few weeds

I know this looks like I gave up on our small garden and pulled the whole thing up, but it is instead most of the weeds from my garden! Yep. I knew I was a slacker, but this again is proof. At least now the plants actually growing something we want have room to grow & flourish. Even with all these weeds, we did have enough beans and peas to make a very yummy dinner last night! Hopefully now we will get enough to share!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

Last night we were lucky enough to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open house. It was beautiful!!! The celestial room was so pretty and the kids ooohhed and aaahhed over almost everything . They loved the chance to go into a sealing room and sit and stare at the gorgeous chandelier that was above their heads. The kids even behave pretty well, which made it a great improvement from the Draper temple trip. It was also fun because Aunt Emilee (my little sister) and Aimee (my cousin) were able to come with us and enjoy the surroundings as well.

Beautiful temple & our little family

The kids had a wonderful time and loved the chance to see all the beautiful parts of the temple.

So many beautiful parts of the temple. I just loved being there with my family. We even got a picture of the angel Moroni that was hit by lightening a bit ago- still beautiful though.

It was also fun to see the two other temples near by. The Jordan River temple as well as the Draper temple sitting up on the hill (seen above). The kids love that temple because they were able to go in during the open house in February. It was cute because they said that they are excited to go in again some day! Love those cutie kids.

Loving being Toothless

Also on our very busy Monday, Mikey lost another tooth. He is quite proud of this one because there is not another tooth already growing behind it and so he is toothless in that spot for awhile. It had been wiggly for a few days and he was putting off having it pulled out as long as possible. But when we saw it Monday, it was so wiggly I was afraid it may come out at night and he would swallow it. So after a little wiggly work from his dad, a few good tugs, and a tease or two, the tooth was out and Mikey was bragging that he would get a prize from the tooth fairy. He has been so funny about that silly tooth. I have found him biting whatever he is eating, on that spot where there is no tooth. Lance is especially fond of his toothless grin and loves to make him smile so he can see his own little jack o' lantern son.

Happy Birthday Grandma Fuhriman!

Monday (7/6/09) was my mom's birthday, and me being the slacker that I was did not make mention of it...sorry mom! This wonderful lady is one of my favorite women on this earth. She does so much for our little family and I just want her to know that I love her & appreciate all that she does for us! I think of her daily when my kids do something that I know I did as a kid and wonder how she ever let us live and eventually have kids of our own. I can only hope that I can one day be as wonderful of a mom as she is. Happy (Late) Birthday Mom!

Fourth of July

To continue the 4th of July fun for the week, on Wednesday the kids came with me as I helped my Cub scouts learn and pass off indoor and outdoor flag ceremonies. So the kids learned how to take care of flags, and how to show them respect. Thursday we slacked, but made up for it on Friday when the kids and I went to the store and got sun catchers. The kids had so much fun. The only paints we had were red, white, and blue....so everything turned out quite patriotic. It was fun to see their creative minds working and having fun. Kiersten had the most fun and took almost an hour to do these 4 little sun catchers. So fun!

On the fourth, we just hung out as a family until I had to go to work. The kids all wore patriotic colors and looked pretty darn cute!

After a quick trip to "the daddy store" to get a pump for the swamp cooler, we blew up the pool and the kids swam and swam. They swam for over FOUR hours! (Thank heavens they tan and not burn!)

For the evening festivities, I ended up meeting the kids in front of the Provo office I work at, that is only a few blocks away from the BYU stadium where the fire works were being held. We got to sit on the grass and watch as the ginormous fire works exploded overhead. When we got home we had fun as the kids played with sparklers and loved watching Lance light a few fireworks at home. The kids apparently were exhausted when they finally crashed and burned that night, because none of them woke until after 10 am the next morning!
