Kiersten & the Dinosaurs

Yesterday Luke & I got to take Kiersten to the Earth Science museum at BYU for another field trip. Mikey had been before with another class, but this was a first for all of us. It was quite interesting and the kids loved it. From the moment you walk in the door there is something that catches your attention and makes it really fun.

Luke & a crocodile head. (They said that if this croc was alive, it would have been the length of the room we were in! And that was a BIG room!)

The kids' favorite thing...fossilized crocodile dung!?! They thought that was hilarious!

What a fun day!

You know you are a dad when....

So I got home from work last night and Lance told me the funniest thing. He had to teach Elder's Quorum yesterday, which happened to be while I was at work. We thought it wouldn't be a big deal with me being gone, but right in the middle of Lance's lesson, the nursery leader brought Luke in with a STINKY diaper that needed to be changed! Luckily, Lance had just barely split the class into parts to help think of something that had to do with his lesson. Then to make it even better, it only took him a few minutes, which was the perfect amount of time to then finish up his lesson!

I know he thinks that was probably the most horrible thing ever, but I think it just shows what an awesome Dad he is! Love you, honey!

Fort

Okay, so last Friday night I was getting in from work and what did I see....the cutest fort I have ever seen! Lance and the kids had built it to sleep in for the night. It made me laugh- they used every couch and the big blue chair, and most of the extra blankets in the house.
Luke was in the middle because he was the only one awake and was still watching a movie.

The kids in their fort. (Michael is tucked away on the left side)

Michael was as comfy as could be.

Kiersten was so tired, I don't think she would have cared where she ended up (so long as it was in the fort).

Luke pretending to be asleep like the others. But as soon as I took the picture he was smiling and laughing. Cutie kids.
They had so much fun in the fort that when we took it down the next morning, they made Lance promise up and down that they would build another soon. They can hardly wait!

Mater Sandwich

Last night as we were getting the kids ready for bed, Luke comes over eating a sandwich that he made all on his own....
and what was on inside shouldn't surprise me...it is one of his favorites...
A Mater Sandwich!

Please be careful Luke, we don't want anymore broken teeth at our house!

I am a Child of God

So last night we went with our good friends the Madsens to the I am a Child of God exhibit at the Family History Museum in Salt Lake last night. It was so fun to see all the fun things that they had prepared for the kids. It was especially fun because 2 of their 3 kids had pictures up on the wall in the exhibit!
This part of the exhibit showed part of the tree from Pres. Hinckley's walnut tree that was made into the pulpit for the conference center.

Lance and I were excited that the kids had so much fun and didn't need us yelling at them not to touch anything because everything was touchable. They even had dress up clothes so that they pretend they were part of the nativity. It was awesome!

Then we went around to the different parts of the museum and the kids got to see an angel Moroni. It is the same size as an actual one on the temples. It was one of the amazing things that we were able to see. They had the original death masks from Joseph and Hyrum Smith that let you see what their faces looked like. They had Heber J. Grant's blessing outfit. There was a replica of what the cabins in the ships that our ancestors could have come across the sea in. Anyway...amazing museum so much to see that we didn't even get to.

Then we went to check out the fountains at the Gateway. It was all the kids could do to resist running through, but loved it anyhow.

Fun, fun night.
