Kiersten's first day of Kindergarten

Our little Kindergarten girl

Lots of fun "first" things. She was so excited and giddy that she woke up extra early and nearly drove me crazy waiting for 11:30 to come so she could leave for school. Then after school she was giddy!!! She found out there is this thing called recess, where they let you play outside all you want! She also loved snacks, singing, and sitting by her new friends.

Coming home on the bus was also a definite HIGHLIGHT of her day! She loved sitting by her big brother and was so excited to see Luke & I at the end of the day she gave me big hugs and could hardly get out all the fun things that she did during the day before another fun thing popped in her mind and she would have to tell me all about it. (I LOVED that part). What a very fun day for a very cute girl!

First Day of School- Michael

This morning I had to brave through the tears and help get Michael for his first day of Second Grade! He was so excited that he woke up 30 minutes early, got dressed, and then kept coming in my room to see if it was time. Finally at 7:20 am (a time on the clock I have not seen for awhile) we got up and started to get ready. He made it easy on me and only wanted cereal for breakfast, he scarfed that down and got his hair done and he was set to GO! Of course I had to take a few pics of him (to which he protested), and then Carson (his walking buddy) came and in a flash they were gone. So cute.

So sad was the fact that by 11:00 am, Luke kept opening the door to see if it was time for Buddy (what Luke calls Michael) to come home. But we (im)patiently waited for him to come home and then got to hear all about his fun-filled first day. He said that the only bad part of his day was that he did not get his third recess because he couldn't find his right line. One of the good things of the day was that Julia (his crush from last year) is in his class again this year and is as "beautiful" as ever. Silly boy.

So the mom in me is torn between the one that wants him home to witness his every minute, and the mom who wants for her son to learn and grow. Either way, he has started another year and we know he will be awesome! Love you little buddy!
